Euromarque Motorsport Park, more commonly known as Ruapuna Park, is a premier permanent motor racing facility located in Templeton, just west of Christchurch. Originally opened in November 1963 as a simple one-mile road course, the venue has evolved into a world-class FIA Grade 3 facility owned and operated by the dedicated Canterbury Car Club. It holds a unique status as one of the few club-owned and operated tracks remaining in the region, reflecting a deep-rooted passion for grassroots and professional motorsport. The main circuit spans 3.33 kilometers and is run in an anti-clockwise direction, featuring 11 turns that challenge drivers with a mix of fast sweeping corners and technical sections. The facility is exceptionally versatile, offering six different track configurations alongside a dedicated quarter-mile drag strip and the Ruapuna Speedway clay oval located on the same grounds. This multi-purpose design allows it to host everything from the prestigious Lady Wigram Trophy and historic Skope Classic to modern Supercars Championship rounds and drifting competitions. Beyond the competitive action, the park is known for its fan-friendly atmosphere and excellent spectator viewing. Two main grandstands, named after Kiwi legends Bruce McLaren and Denny Hulme, provide prime sightlines of the main and back straights, while extensive grassy embankments allow families to enjoy picnics while watching the races. With a continuous schedule of club days, racing schools, and national championships, the venue remains the beating heart of motorsport in the Christchurch region.
